The Mission to Seafarers
Wellington, NZ
The Mission to Seafarers is an organisation dedicated to caring for seafarers and their welfare. We offer practical support, emergency assistance, and a friendly welcome to seafarers that find their ship in the port of Wellington, New Zealand.
Upcoming Fundraiser Movie Night: Moana Live Action
You are warmly invited to attend our “Moana - Live Action” Movie Night at Lighthouse Cinema in Petone on Sunday 26th July 2026
The film, Moana - Live Action (2026), is a live-action adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film ‘Moana’. We have selected this film for our next movie night fundraiser due to the seafaring and Pacific Island themes, as we are fundraising for our frontline work of supporting seafarers in the Oceania/Pacific region.
Movie Tickets are $22 for Adults, $18 for Kids (under 15), with complimentary drinks and nibbles from 4:00pm in the upstairs lounge. The movie starts at 5:00pm.
A raffle will also be held, with three prize hampers. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5, and entries close when the movie begins. The draw will take place after the film.
“Seafarers bring us almost everything we use in daily life. This event is a chance for us to raise essential funds to continue to provide welfare services for the people who spend months at sea to keep our country supplied.”
Ports to Peaks Adventure Race - March 2026
Two teams from NZ (Wellington Team and Nelson Team) went to Thredbo, Australia, in March, to compete in the inaugural Ports to Peaks Fundraiser Adventure Race. Hosted by The Mission to Seafarers Australasia (the Australia, PNG, Oceania & Pacific Regions), the event was a huge success, raising vital funds and awareness for seafarer welfare services in NZ, Australia and the wider Pacific.

Ports to Peaks - Wellington Team
We’re the Mission to Seafarers – Wellington Team, and we’re raising funds to support the incredible work of The Mission to Seafarers - Oceania Region.
Every day, seafarers keep global trade moving — often spending months away from home, facing isolation, tough conditions, and limited access to support while in port.
The funds we raise will go directly toward providing vital frontline welfare support to seafarers visiting ports across New Zealand and the Oceania region. This includes practical help, a safe place to rest, access to communication with loved ones, and compassionate human connection when it’s needed most.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping ensure seafarers are cared for, valued, and never forgotten while they’re far from home.
