01: Wellington Seafarers Centre

We have a beautiful modern Seafarers Centre located right next to Shed 39 at CentrePort, Wellington.

It is across the road from the Shuttle Drop-off Point.

If you are berthed at the Container Berth TCW1, or the Aotea Quay berths AQ1 thru AQ6, CentrePort Security can transport you from your vessel to the Wellington Seafarers Centre.

Our Seafarers Centre has keypad access so seafarers can gain access to the Centre ANY TIME of the day or night - 24/7/365.

Crewmembers are invited to come to the Seafarers Centre to relax and unwind, use the free WIFI, enjoy a cuppa tea and a biscuit, and help themselves to free magazines, books, SIM cards and other resources that we have available, free of charge.

There are 3 Currency Exchange Stores located on Lambton Quay (near CentrePort / Wellington Seafarers Centre):

    1. New World Thorndon, located at 150 Molesworth Street, open 7am to 10pm every day - 15 minutes walk from the Port.

    2. Woolworths Cable Car Lane, located next to the Wellington Cable Car at 280 Lambton Quay - 18 minutes walk from the Port.

    3. New World Wellington City, located at 279 Wakefield Street, open 7am to 11pm every day - 25 minutes walk from the Port.

  • The most “happening” part of Wellington after 5:30pm every day is Courtenay Place, Manners Street, Dixon Street and Cuba Street. You will find lots of restaurants, bars and nightlife there.

    lt’s also worth checking out “Willis Lane”, which is a buzzing underground foodcourt and entertainment centre on the corner of Willis Street and Lambton Quay.
